Please read instructions carefully, this is very important. This is what the final will include.
To Be Submitted:
● #1 and #2—excel files with data
● #3—screen shots of data
● Separate narrative in a word document with your observations about the data findings.
Utilizing Health Care Databases
You are to provide a report from each of these registries based on the guidelines below.
Please Read Carefully and Follow all Directions
If any of the selections, you have in your data sets appear as asterisks or have limited information you must select a different topic. That indicates that there is not enough data to be statistically significant. |
Speculate on reasons for the differences. If you were a policy maker in one of the states, what would you recommend to your lawmakers regarding your findings?
For purposes of this assignment, I would recommend saving the results as an excel file so that I can see what you were reviewing.

Select “Over time” under view tables and graphics for this measure. Click on “Get Data”. Click on the link that says “Excel—Open/Save File”. Review the information in the Excel document. Notice that there is more information in this file than what was displayed on the initial query.
Comment on the findings—What questions does the data raise for you. Can you make any predictions as to what the future holds for these patients? As above, comment on what recommendations do you have as a policy maker to make impact future results

You are to use 2016 data. This is an interactive graphic that displays the incidences of cancer by state ranking compared to the US overall. You can do many things here, but you will be comparing two states of your choice to the national data. You can compare the rates of male to female for certain types of cancer. Or you can compare the rate of a particular type of cancer from 2016 with the same type of cancer in 2000. It is up to you as to what you want to compare. View the video to see how to navigate the website.
Make some observations about your findings. For example: why is the incidence different between men and women? Has the incidence of cancer decreased or increased over the years? Why does one state have a higher incidence than another? How do the states compare to the national rates? These are the types of questions you are to evaluate. Is there any recent research on the type of cancer you selected?

For this part of the assignment, you will have to send a screenshot of the three data sets you viewed. See below for a sample. That way I can go in and view the same data you were looking at. See below for the screenshot I need.
For example this screenshot tells me that you were looking at the rate new cancer cases and cancer deaths of prostate cancer in New York for males in 2016.
